Sexologist and clinical psychologist Dr Vivienne Cass, author of The Elusive Orgasm, is not only making Australians excited, but the international community as well. At the recent Independent Publisher Book Awards in the US, Dr Cass’ self-help book was a semi-finalist out of 2,175 books from over 1,500 publishers around the world.
“The Elusive Orgasm offers the perfect combination of psychology, science and plain talk. Dr Cass speaks frankly, putting her readers at ease while covering this “elusive” topic completely and expertly. The illustrations are first rate, and the quizzes and questionnaires get the reader intimately involved. This book should be at every bedside and it should bring increased sexual fulfillment to anyone who opens it”, says Jim Barnes, Managing Editor & Awards Coordinator, Independent Publisher Book Awards 2005.
The Independent Publisher Book Awards were conceived in 1996 as a broad-based, unaffiliated awards program open to all members of the independent publishing industry. The awards are intended to bring increased recognition to the thousands of exemplary independent, university, and self-published titles produced each year and rewards those who exhibit courage, innovation, and creativity in each of the 58 literary categories.
The Elusive Orgasm: A woman’s guide to why she can’t and how she can orgasm is the first ‘how to’ book written on female orgasm difficulties in 30 years, both in Australia and globally. And considering that one in three women are known to have orgasmic problems, it’s no wonder the first print run sold out within six months.
Written by Australian sexologist, Dr Vivienne Cass, ‘The Elusive Orgasm is the result of many years of clinical and scientific study and provides the most up-to-date findings, including many new scientific breakthroughs on how female sexuality works.
“It’s a great honour to have The Elusive Orgasm singled out at the Independent Publisher Book Awards because it shines a spotlight on a very intimate topic. It’s important for women to know they are not alone and that they can overcome their sexual difficulties. The book is written as if I’m talking directly to the reader, which is helpful to those who don’t have access to a sex therapist,” says Dr Vivienne Cass.
